A tree on the ground, across a fence, a driveway or a yard, cut into pieces and cleared away without damaging what is underneath.
A fallen tree looks finished, but it is not always safe. The trunk can be pinned under tension, the root plate may be wedged upright and the whole thing can shift when you cut the wrong piece. Taking apart a downed tree safely is a matter of reading the stresses, not just running a saw.
We start by looking at what the tree is resting on, where the weight sits and which cuts will release it. A Certified Arborist leads the plan, and the crew cuts in an order that keeps everyone and everything safe. Fences, cars, sheds and landscaping are protected, and the pieces are cleared as we go.
Trees that fall are often bent over other trees, fences or the ground. A cut in the wrong place can make a trunk spring up or roll. We find the compression and tension sides, cut in a safe order and avoid standing in the path of a release.
When a tree uproots, the root plate stands up with soil and rocks and can swing back when the trunk is cut. We secure it, and where needed we help you plan the hole, either filling it or stabilizing the soil.
Trees on fences and cars are lifted and cut carefully to reduce damage. We work with your insurer where needed and leave a clear area for repairs to start.
When a tree falls, you might want another in its place. We can help you choose a species that fits the spot and plant it in the right season. Often it is wise to move the new tree a little, so roots are not growing in the old stump area.
