The right tree in the right place, planted correctly, so it thrives for generations instead of struggling for years.
A tree planted correctly can outlive the people who planted it. A tree planted badly, too deep, in the wrong spot or in the wrong soil, often struggles and dies within a few years. Success comes from choosing a species that fits, planting at the right depth and watering through the first seasons.
A Certified Arborist helps you choose: how big it will get, how much sun the spot receives, what the soil is like and what you want from the tree, whether shade, flowers, fall color, privacy or wildlife. We dig the hole correctly, set the root flare at the surface, backfill, mulch and give you a simple watering plan.
Consider mature size, root habit, sun, drainage, soil and what is overhead and underground. Native trees support wildlife and handle local conditions. We steer you away from weak or invasive species and suggest alternatives that suit your site.
The hole should be wide and only as deep as the root ball. The root flare must sit at or slightly above grade. We remove wire and burlap where needed, backfill with native soil and avoid heavy amendments in the planting hole.
New trees need deep, regular watering for the first two or three growing seasons, a few inches of mulch and protection from mowers. We provide a care sheet and can come back to check, stake or prune.
Native oaks, maples, tulip poplars and hickories offer shade, wildlife value and long life. We help you choose the right ones for your soil and your space, and plan for how big they will get.
