How Tree Removal Works: What to Expect From Call to Cleanup

A plain walk-through of the process, from the first call to the final raking.

The first call

Tell us what you have, where it is and what worries you. Photos help. We schedule a site visit when the job needs one, or give a range by phone for simple work.

The site visit and plan

A Certified Arborist looks at the tree, the surroundings, access and the best method. You get a clear scope and a price in writing before any work begins.

Setting up

On the day, the crew walks the plan, sets up barriers and protects the lawn and hardscape. Cars are moved, pets are kept inside and the work zone is marked.

The removal

Climbers or a bucket truck work from the top down, lowering sections on ropes. Larger trees may use a crane. The crew follows the plan and communicates the whole way through.

Chipping and hauling

Limbs go through the chipper. Logs are cut to length and either hauled or left for you. If you ordered stump grinding, it happens next.

Final cleanup

We rake and blow the work area, check for hazards and walk the site with you. You see the result before the crew leaves.

Our advice in one sentence

Expect a clear plan, careful rigging and a clean yard, and ask for all of it in writing.

Many removals take a day or less. Large or complicated jobs take longer.

What should I do before the crew arrives?

Move cars, clear the area, secure pets and mark sprinklers or buried lines you know about.
